Ruth Snyder T-Shirt: The First Woman Executed in the Electric Chair

Ruth Snyder was a housewife who became infamous for her murder of her husband, Albert Snyder, in 1927. She was the first woman to be executed in the electric chair in New York State, and her story was widely covered by the media.

Snyder was born in 1895 and grew up in poverty. She married Albert Snyder in 1915, and they had two children together. However, the marriage was unhappy, and Snyder began an affair with a man named Henry Judd Gray.

In 1927, Snyder and Gray hatched a plan to murder Albert Snyder. They lured him to his office under the pretense of signing some papers, and then Snyder bludgeoned him to death with a sash weight. Gray then strangled Snyder with a stocking.

The couple tried to cover up the murder by making it look like a robbery, but they were eventually caught. Snyder was convicted of murder and sentenced to death in the electric chair. She was executed on January 12, 1928, at Sing Sing Prison.

Snyder's story is a cautionary tale about the dangers of greed and infidelity. It is also a reminder that even the most seemingly ordinary people are capable of committing terrible crimes.

This t-shirt is a great way to remember Ruth Snyder and her place in history.
